Development of the materials in this ibook goes back to 2005 when I first realized that a project I was putting together would benefit greatly from the addition of GIS (geographic information system) interactive maps. During the eight years since I have had the opportunity to develop my GIS skills participating in a GEODE Initiative curriculum development project at Northwestern University and ESRI T3G workshops in 2011 and 2017.
